Verse: “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” Galatians 5:22, 23
This past month in kids church, we’ve been talking about using our gifts to glorify God and serve others. The final Sunday of this series took place this weekend and featured a celebration of the gifts of all of our Carnival staff characters.
The theme for the morning was the Fruit of the Spirit and we taught it by having an imaginary machine scan each of our characters and determine whether he or she was a “GOOD FRUIT” or a “BAD FRUIT.”
Each time a character would step into the center of the stage, we would change the lights and play one of the two Good Fruit, Bad Fruit videos.
I tied it all up at the end by talking about ways that the Holy Spirit grows His fruit within our lives and how we demonstrate that fruit.
The Good Fruit, Bad Fruit machine was a fun, visual way to describe an abstract concept and played a major role in our Carnival storyline.
It even included a memory verse game which I will post tomorrow.
Download the elements of Good Fruit, Bad Fruit below. It includes the title slide and the two scaning slides.
