Leading up to our Slime Party, I wanted to concoct the perfect slime. The perfect slime had to be safe, easy to clean up and the perfect color.

After a lot of research and a few trials, I loved what we came up with.

Applesauce (in a #10 can)
Vanilla Pudding (in a #10 can)
Corn Starch
Green Food Dye
Yellow Food Dye
5-gal. Bucket

I picked up all the supplies (besides the buckets) at our local Gordon Food Services that sells bulk-sized raw materials for chefs, restaurants, cafeterias, etc.

You might do it on a Sunday morning like me. Or you might do it on a Friday or Saturday as a special event.

Whenever, or however, you choose to throw your Slime Party, here are the three guiding principles that we used.

The summer is my favorite time of the year. It’s an opportunity to try out new things and have a lot of fun in kids ministry. Here is an idea for a summer outreach that you can do that will get your entire church talking.

The Slime Party.

Since September 2015, we’ve been using the Tru Fire curriculum from My Healthy Church and David C. Cook for our Sunday morning kids church service.

Tru Fire is the best-written and most thorough curriculum I’ve ever used. It does a great job of walking kids through the Bible and highlighting God’s eternal plan throughout Scripture. Every six or seven weeks, the curriculum has a Remember and Celebrate service. It’s an opportunity to review and reflect on the things that the kids have learned up to that point.

Puppies make the best gifts! These unsuspecting recipients of brand new puppies can’t contain their emotions.

As a 90s kid, I spent many Monday nights glued to my television screen and watching guys like Hulk Hogan, Sting and “Macho Man” Randy Savage pound on each other. For years, I’ve dreamed of staging my own wrestling match at kids church. This past weekend, my dream came true.

I realized pretty quickly that I didn’t want to have a lot of actual wrestling on our stage for many reasons and I didn’t want it to be a spectator sport, I wanted the kids to be involved. My “wrestling match” consisted of three rounds, each featuring two opponents, and the winner of each round was decided by the kids in the audience.
